THE BASICS OF QUANTITATIVE FIT TESTING
Quantitative Fit Testing (QNFT) uses a machine to measure the amount of air leakage into a mask. It is required for full-face masks, including:
- Elastomeric full facepiece respirator
- ASR: atmosphere supplying respirators
- SAR: supplied-air respirators
- SCBA: self-contained breathing apparatus
- Combination SAR/SCBA respirators
- APR: air-purifying respirators
- FFR: filtering facepiece respirator
- EHMR: elastomeric half-mask respirator
- PFR: particulate filtering respirators
- N (not resistant to oil) 95, 99, 100
- R (somewhat resistant to oil) 95, 99, 100
- P (strongly resistant to oil) 95, 99, 100
- HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air)
QNFT can also be used on half-face masks.
MOBILE HEALTH'S HASSLE-FREE FIT TESTING PROCESS
In just a few simple steps, we can fit test your team.
1. Schedule the fit tests: Choose to bring Mobile Health team on-site to your location, send employees in-clinic, or both.
2. Conduct online medical evaluations: Medical evaluations are required before fit testing. We offer them online to streamline and expedite the process.
3. Complete the fit tests: We get an accurate measurement of the seal of each respirator, known as a fit factor. Half-face respirators require a fit factor of 100 or more to pass, full-face respirators need 500 or higher to pass.
4. Results are delivered to you in real-time: Includes mask type, tester name, pass/fail, and a fit test certificate for every employee who passes.
