THE BASICS OF QUANTITATIVE FIT TESTING

Quantitative Fit Testing (QNFT) uses a machine to measure the amount of air leakage into a mask. It is required for full-face masks, including:

  • Elastomeric full facepiece respirator
  • ASR: atmosphere supplying respirators
  • SAR: supplied-air respirators
  • SCBA: self-contained breathing apparatus
  • Combination SAR/SCBA respirators
  • APR: air-purifying respirators
  • FFR: filtering facepiece respirator
  • EHMR: elastomeric half-mask respirator
  • PFR: particulate filtering respirators
  • N (not resistant to oil) 95, 99, 100
  • R (somewhat resistant to oil) 95, 99, 100
  • P (strongly resistant to oil) 95, 99, 100
  • HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air)

QNFT can also be used on half-face masks.

MOBILE HEALTH'S HASSLE-FREE FIT TESTING PROCESS

In just a few simple steps, we can fit test your team.

1. Schedule the fit tests: Choose to bring Mobile Health team on-site to your location, send employees in-clinic, or both.

2. Conduct online medical evaluations: Medical evaluations are required before fit testing. We offer them online to streamline and expedite the process.

3. Complete the fit tests: We get an accurate measurement of the seal of each respirator, known as a fit factor. Half-face respirators require a fit factor of 100 or more to pass, full-face respirators need 500 or higher to pass.

4. Results are delivered to you in real-time: Includes mask type, tester name, pass/fail, and a fit test certificate for every employee who passes.
