OUR EMPLOYEE TB TESTING SERVICES

We offer both TB blood tests and TB skin tests to give your employees and company ultimate flexibility. If an employee’s tuberculosis test comes back positive, we can also perform a confirmatory chest x-ray. Plus, we provide the OSHA documentation you need for both positive and negative results.

TB BLOOD TEST

Our QuantiFERON-TB blood test clears your workers with one easy appointment. Also referred to as an IGRA test, the QuantiFERON-TB blood test is more accurate and reliable than a skin test, take only one visit, can detect latent TB (LTBI), and will not give a false positive to someone who has received the BCG TB vaccine. That means Ffaster clearance for you and more convenience for your employees.

Note that Mobile Health only offers the QuantiFERON-TB blood test. We do not offer the T-SPOT TB test.

PPD SKIN TEST

Also called a Mantoux test, a PPD skin test requires two visits, with a strict timeline that must be followed between the first and second appointment. On the first visit, the person is injected with a small amount of tuberculin purified protein derivative (PPD). On the second visit, which must happen 48-72 hours after the injection, the area of the injection is measured to determine the person’s response. The measurement determines whether or not someone has tuberculosis.

CONFRIMATORY CHEST X-RAY

No matter which TB test method is used, if the result is positive, a chest x-ray is required to determine if the tuberculosis is active or latent. The chest x-ray also indicates the severity of the infection, and can help guide any further medical treatments, if deemed necessary.
